The stirring stick has a flathead nylon screw, which fits through a hole at the top of the dipping well to hold the stick against the inside of the well, and out of the way of the dipper. The stirring stick also has two holes or notches, to show suggested lowest and highest wax levels in the dipping well. Measure the levels without a candle in the well wax, while holding the stick flat against the inside of the well, with the bottom of the stick touching the bottom of the well.
